Dr Heather Roff is an internationally recognised expert in artificial intelligence, autonomous weapons, cybersecurity and the ethics of emerging military technologies. She is a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Oxford, a Research Scientist at Arizona State University’s Global Security Initiative, and a Fellow with New America’s Future of War Project. Her research examines international security, human rights, AI governance and the legal and ethical challenges of modern warfare. Dr Roff is the author of Global Justice, Kant and the Responsibility to Protect and has written extensively for academic journals and leading publications including Wired, The Wall Street Journal, Slate and the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.
