Joan is the founder and CEO of Joan Hornig Jewelry – Philanthropy is Beautiful® and Pavé the Way®, pioneering a social enterprise model that donates 100% of company profits from each jewelry purchase to a charity chosen by the customer. After careers in nonprofit fundraising and nearly two decades on Wall Street, she launched her philanthropy-driven jewelry business in 2003. Her award-winning designs have benefited more than 1,000 nonprofits worldwide and have been worn by leaders including Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, and Lady Gaga. A Harvard and Columbia Business School graduate, Hornig serves on the Fashion Institute of Technology Board and the New York State Council on the Arts, championing philanthropy, design, and social impact.
